FTDI eeprom repair procedure
Dear JAF customers,
In case you play with other USB tools you can some time damaged your eeprom. This could be that
your JAF is not longer recognized by windows. The repair procedure is quite simple, follow advised
steps and have a look at the screenshots. Procedure takes less than 5 minutes.
Do not play with your device if it is not damaged, and if you are not sure it is the eeprom.
Please ask first your reseller or us !!!
1.) download from this thread the 2 attached files
http://forums.phone-tools.cn/showthread.php?p=34513#post34513
2.) Install first Mprog230 and start the software, you will see
this grey screen, no buttons are active, is no problem.
3.) load the file jafusb.ept look at the screenshot below
4.) now greyed buttons become all active, have a look at the
screenshot.
5.) now connect your JAF box via USB cable and press this
button, have a look at the screenshot, you should get the
message “ERASED SUCESSFULLY DEVICE 0”
6.) now press this
button, have a look at the screenshot, you
should get the message:
“Programmed Serial Number: Disabled”
Now eeprom is restored again and your OS will recognize JAF again as
a JAF flasher and not as another device.
