MC-049A Adjustment Spec
NTV Development Group
1.Scope
These adjustment instructions are applied to MC-049A chassis.
2. Notes
2.1. Because this is a cold chassis, it is not necessary to use an
isolation transformer.
But, operate it using a transformer between the power supply line
and chassis
input to prevent electric shock and to protect the test
instrument.
2.2. All adjustments must be done in correct sequence.
However, for the better productivity, it can be changed in
pre-permitted range.
2.3. Environment conditions : If not specified, it must be done in
following conditions.
1) temperature : 25? ± 5?
2) Humidity : 65% ± 10%
2.4. Power supply of a SET which is adjusted is (100?240V)±10% AC,
50?60Hz
2.5. If not specified, the receiver must be operated for more than 20
minutes prior to
the adjustment.
2.6. Signal : Receive the standard color signal. (65dB±1dB uV)
LG standard signal means the digital pattern 13CH(480NC)
2.7. If not specified, APC ON is APC CLEAR.
3. Adjustment contents
3.1. Focus voltage adjustment
3.2. Purity & Convergence adjustment
3.3. Screen Voltage adjustment
3.4. White Balance adjustment
3.5. Deflection adjustment
3.6. Deflection setting Initial data
3.7. SERVICE adjustment data table
3.8. OPTION data setting
4. IN-STOP MODE setting
3.1. Focus voltage adjustment
3.1.1. Receive the LG standard pattern(digital pattern, 480NC, 13CH).
3.1.2. Set the picture condition on `APC CLEAR' mode.
3.1.3. Adjust the Focus volume of FBT for the best focus of horizontal
line A,
vertical line B.
3.2. Purity & Convergence adjustment
3.2.1. Purity adjustment
(1) Preparation
? Receive the RED Raster Pattern for purity adjustment.(11CH)
? Demagnetize the CPT and Cabinet with a degaussing coil.
(2) Adjustment
? Pre-adjust the static convergence(STC) with 4 and 6-pole magnet.
? Push the DY(deflection Yoke) all the way to the CPT pannel.
? Turn the purity magnet(2-pole magnet) so that the `green'
portion of left side
and the `blue' portion of right side have same portion.
? Pull the DY slowly and fix it when the whole screen become red.
3.2.2. Convergence adjustment
(1) Preparation
? Receive the Cross Hatch pattern for convergence
adjustment.(09CH)
? Let the contrast at the adequate luminance level.
(2) Adjustment
? Converge the RED vertical line and BLUE vertical line in the
same line by
changing the angle between the 2 tabs of the 4 pole magnet.
? Converge the RED horizontal line and BLUE horizontal line in the
same line by
turning the 2 tabs of the 4 pole magnet. This time, do not
change the angle
between the 2 tabs.
? Converge the R, G, B vertical line in the same line by changing
the angle between
the 2 tabs of the 6 pole magnet.
? Converge the R, G, B horizontal line in the same line by turning
the 2 tabs of
the 6 pole magnet. This time, do not change the angle between
the 2 tabs.
3.3. Screen voltage adjustment
3.3.1. Receive the NTSC or PAL-M/N signal into RF mode ( regardless of
channel.)
3.3.2. If you press the ADJ button in LINE SVC mode (IN-START button),
the LINE SVC
mode changes to screen adjustment mode.
3.3.3. Turn the Screen volume of FBT until the horizontal line is no
longer seen
and then stop.
3.3.4. Press the TV/AV button to exit SVC mode.
3.4. White Balance Adjustment
Prior to this adjustment, screen voltage adjustment must be finished.
3.4.1. Necessary Instrument
(1). White Pattern Generator (Can generate Low/High Light pattern)
(2). White Balance meter( CRT color Analyzer,CA-100)
(3). Factory Remote control
3.4.2. Preliminary steps
(1). Tune the TV set to receive an 100% white pattern.
(2). Perform screen adjustment first.
3.4.3. Adjustment
(1). Enter into adjustment mode by ``INSTART'' key and select
SERVICE1 mode.
(2). Adjust the item with CH+/- Key.
(3). Adjust the data with VOL+/- Key.
(4). Adjustment Procedure
Adjust``CONTRAST'' and ``BRIGHT'' so that the bright level is 35Ft-L.
Select B DRIVE to adjust Y coordinate in High Light and select R DRIVE
to adjust X coordinate so that the color coordinates in High Light match
the values
In Table below.
Adjust `CONTRAST'' and ``BRIGHT'' so that the bright level is 4.5Ft-L.
Select B CUT to adjust Y coordinate in Low Light and select R CUT
to adjust X coordinate so that the color coordinate in Low light match
the values in
Table below.
Repeat ? ~ ? until the color coordinates in High and Low color
satisfies the Table.
Check the adjusted color coordinates with the white balance meter
Store the W/B adjustment data in EEPROM by using ENTER button before
EXIT.
